Nogales Little League Coach Who Won Title Busted On Drug Charges

Jorge Guerrero, who guided the Nogales Little League to the 2014 Little League Intermedia championship in 2014, was busted on drug charges.

NOGALES, AZ – It wasn't even four years ago that Jorge Guerrero was on top of the world, having led the Nogales Little League Baseball team to the Little League Intermediate world championship. Now, Guerrero faces drug charges.

He was arrested last week as part an ongoing narcotics investigation.

Members of the Santa Cruz County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force executed a search warrant at a home on the 400 block of Calle Cullacan and discovered that Guerrero had 10 grams of cocaine.

He was released on $500 bond.

Guerrero led his team from this small border city to the world championship at the intermediate level, which allows boys and girls, ages 11-13 to play on a larger field to help them get ready for high school baseball.

After falling behind 3-1 to Puerto Rico, the Nogales team came back and won 11-3.
