Over $10,000 Raised In 24 Hours For Fallen Golder Ranch Firefighter

After a sudden illness, a local Tucson Firefighter lost his life, leaving behind a family in need. Now, all are rising up to support them.

TUCSON, AZ — Golder Ranch Firefighter Jose Sameniego lost his life after a sudden and severe illness according to a fundraising page set up in his honor. The Golder Ranch Fire District has rallied together in support of the ones who remain behind.

"Jose served his community as a Firefighter for over 10 years, most recently at Golder Ranch Fire District," Matt Gordon, organizer for the fundraising page said. "In addition to being a extremely capable and professional firefighter, Jose found a passion and dedication to the Technical Rescue and Hazardous Materials response team at Golder Ranch."

Sameniego made a meaningful impact on many responses and rescues according to friends and coworkers--brothers in the fire service.
