Pima County Inmate Found Unresponsive In Cell Dies: Police
The 50-year-old man was revived and taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died, Pima County Sheriff's officials said.
TUCSON, AZ — An inmate at the Pima County Adult Detention Complex died Tuesday after corrections officers found him unresponsive in his cell the day prior. According to the Pima County Sheriff's Office, corrections officers discovered the unresponsive man around 7 a.m.
Officials said corrections officers attempted to revive the man — identified as 50-year-old Todd Ash — while they waited for the Tucson Fire Department to arrive. Ash eventually was revived and transported to a nearby hospital. Though officials said doctors were able to stabilize Ash, his condition deteriorated before he died Tuesday night.
A cause of death has not yet been determined. The Criminal Investigations Division is leading the investigation.
