Have you written or published a book set in the southwest or about the southwest? If so, the Library wants to see it! We’re now accepting review copies of relevant titles for the 2020 edition of Southwest Books of the Year, the nation’s only ongoing guide to everything current and contemporary in the literature of our region.

Southwest Books of the Year reviewers are looking for well-written books with popular appeal that are focused on the southwest. Additional criteria may be applied within the given categories, including, but not limited to the following:
- Cooking & Food
- Fiction
- History
- Memoir
- Nature & Science
- Nonfiction
- Poetry
- Children’s
Readers across the Southwest LOVE regional literature, be it fiction and mystery, natural history, poetry, history, art, or food. Our corner of the world demands to be written—and read—about. That’s why Pima County Public Library has published Southwest Books of the Year for more than 4 decades!
Past editions have featured books on a broad range of subjects, including an authoritative biography of Sandra Day O’Connor, the history of Arizona’s deadliest gunfight, and a novel about a travelling newspaperman in post-Civil War Texas.
