Reid Park Zoo: Say Hello To Rainbow, The Blue-And-Gold Macaw

Rainbow the blue-and-gold macaw recently moved from a behind-the-scenes aviary to a habitat next to our resident cockatoo. Long-time Zoo fans might remember Rainbow from when he used to live in the South America section of the Zoo several years ago!

So far Rainbow is enjoying his new location. His care team reports that he enjoys watching the birds in Flight Connection and living near Kanecky, the sulfur-crested cockatoo. He even copies Kanecky’s actions like chewing on enrichment when he sees Kanecky do it! Be sure to say hello to Rainbow on your next visit!
