Reid Park Zoo: Zebra Foal Born At Reid Park Zoo

Anna the Grevy’s zebra gave birth to a foal early this week. The baby is healthy, nursing well, and exploring his new environment. Grevy’s zebras are an endangered species and the largest of the three species of zebra. Zebra foals are delicate newborns, and staff will be monitoring the pair closely due to the higher infant mortality rate with this species. Guests who are hoping to see mom and baby will have their best chance to spot this striped duo first thing in the mornings
