(Tempe, Ariz.) – Tempe City Council has approved a resolution adopting the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, which creates standards for park amenities, sports fields, equipment and recreation programming. The plan will be used as a blueprint for future park projects and program offerings over the next decade.

The plan, approved by Tempe City Council at the July 1 meeting, includes a system-wide approach to evaluating parks and recreation amenities, facilities and programs and has resulted in achievable, measurable goals. It is built on four guiding principles: inclusion, resilience, strategy and sustainability. The two-year planning process included a robust and inclusive public input process that included stakeholders and Tempe residents.
