Rio Rico High School Threat Rumor Dismissed
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office investigated rumors of an online threat made against the school.

RIO RICO, AZ – Rio Rico High School is open as usual on Thursday after a rumored threat was dismissed. The school sent a note to parents saying that they had been working with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.
Schools Superintendent David Verdugo said that they went to the sheriff's office after hearing about a possible threat made via social media.
"In response to this, the Sheriff’s Office identified the source of the social media post and through their investigation determined that no threat against any of our children or schools has been made," Verdugo wrote. "We will continue to be in contact with the Sheriff’s Office throughout the day should any new allegations surface.
