Rockwell Collins Closing Tucson Facility, Laying Off 413 People

The company, which makes Super First Class aircraft seating, cited a lack of demand. The company had bought the plant just last year.

TUCSON, AZ – Rockwell Collins is shutting its doors in Tucson. The aviation company announced Thursday that they are closing their facility South Pantano Road.

The company says that approximately 413 people will lose their jobs as of September 30. Some will have the opportunity to apply for jobs elsewhere in the company.

Rockwell Collins, which makes high end aircraft seats and similar products, cited a lack of demand.

They bought the facility last year from Florida-based B/E Aerospace.
