Sheriff Investigates Officer Involved Shooting In Tucson

The shooting happened around 1 p.m. Thursday outside the Fiesta Lanes located at 501 West River Road in Tucson, Pima County's Sheriff said.

TUCSON, AZ — The Pima County Sheriff's Office is investigating an officer involved shooting that happened Thursday afternoon outside the Fiesta Lanes at 501 West River Road in Tucson.

In a brief news release, the sheriff's department said deputies began an interaction with a suspicious vehicle at 501 West River Road around 1 p.m.

The release stated the vehicle bore a license plate that had been reported stolen previously.

According to the sheriff's department, an "altercation" ensued, and the man in the vehicle pulled a gun. A deputy fired at the man, and he was shot.

Deputies provided medical aid before the man was taken to a local hospital, the department said. The man's condition is unknown.
