Tucson Sector Border Patrol Agent Dies In Line Of Duty

TUCSON, AZ — Border Patrol Agent Martin Barrios, of the Tucson Sector, has died in the line of duty, according to a Friday morning tweet from Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, Raul Ortiz.

"The entire USBP family mourns the loss of Supervisory Border Patrol Agent Martin Barrios who sadly passed away in the line of duty," Ortiz said in the tweet. "Please keep his family, friends, and colleagues in your thoughts."

More information on how and when Barrios died was not immediately available.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones," John R. Modlin, chief patrol agent for the Tucson Sector, said in a tweet. "We will always remember his service."
