Luis Gonzalez, who smacked the game-winning hit in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series, was driving with friends when they witnessed a car cross into oncoming traffic and hit a woman’s car head-on. Her car burst into flames, and Gonzalez sprung into action, according to his friend who taped the heroic rescue on his cellphone.

"He (Gonzalez) said, 'Oh my God look what happened,’" Artie Cuffari told The Arizona Republic. “Gonzo pulled her out and held her the whole time. She didn’t know what hit her.”
