Wilmot Road Paving Prep Work Underway

The project, which will last until May, will involve lane closures.

TUCSON, AZ – Work on Wilmot Road is underway as the city gets ready to repave a stretch. The first step is the replacement of 220 manhole covers between Pima Street and Golf Links Road.

Crews will work Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. through 4 p.m. each day.

Once that's done, the city will start removing asphalt and getting ready to repave.

That phase is scheduled to begin on April 16 and run through May 4.

That work will take place Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

During the work, while there will be 24-hour lane closures, at least two lanes of travel in each direction will be kept open.
