City leaders aim to grow Winslow as a regional employment hub while protecting downtown's Route 66 charm, La Posada Hotel, and local Native arts, and are now pushing hard to expand power, housing, and infrastructure to keep pace.
• Wyoming, Utah and Arizona Among 14 States Sharing $11.2 Million for Rural Residencies, but Doctors Are Years Away (medicaldaily.com) — Winslow residents should know that Winslow Memorial Hospital has secured a $750,000 federal grant to plan a new family medicine residency program serving the Hopi and Navajo Nations and the local community. While this could eventually bring more doctors to town, planning and training mean it will be several years before fully trained physicians are practicing locally, so existing clinics, community health centers, and telehealth remain key options for care.
