• Yuma County non-profit groups get funding from Arizona arts commission (kawc.org) — Several Yuma arts nonprofits, including the City of Yuma Arts and Culture Commission and the Children's Museum of Yuma County, are receiving more than $56,000 in new state arts grants. Awards also support the Somerton Tamale Festival, which funds scholarships for Yuma County students. State arts officials say the funding is meant to strengthen community life and creative work across Arizona.
• Couple form support group for children with cancer (yumasun.com) — A Yuma County family whose son survived childhood kidney cancer has created Hunter's Army to help other local families cover rent, utilities, and travel costs during treatment. Since 2021, the group has supported 19 Yuma County families, directing over 90% of donations straight to households coping with a child's cancer. Residents can learn more or donate at huntersarmy.org.
