β’ 43-year-old man loses life in Thursday collision (yumasun.com) β Yuma police report that a 43-year-old driver died after his Honda Accord collided with a turning pickup at South Frontage Road and South Avenue 10E on Thursday evening. Investigators say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors and are asking anyone who saw the crash or has information to contact YPD or 78-CRIME anonymously.

β’ Arizona cancels state land leases for Yuma biosolids company after fly, odor concerns (azfamily.com) β State officials have canceled AgTech's state land leases in the Yuma area after inspections found heavy applications of imported sewage sludge and years of complaints about flies and odors from nearby residents and farmers. Yuma community members who pushed for change welcome the move, though the company plans to appeal and at least one local advocate now faces a defamation lawsuit tied to the dispute.
