The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Yuma.

Good morning, Yuma! Let's get this Wednesday started. Here's everything you need to know today in Yuma.

First, today's weather:

Plenty of sunshine. High: 83 Low: 55.

Here are the top three stories in Yuma today:

  1. As border crossings rise, with an estimated 7,000 migrants being stopped crossing the border daily from Mexico, the Biden administration is nearing a decision on whether to end sweeping asylum restrictions designed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Title 42 has been in question since COVID-19 rates have been plunging among migrants crossing the border. The positivity rate among 5,300 migrants tested last month at the Regional Center for Border Health near Yuma, Arizona, was 0.1 percent. (KTSA)
  2. A Yuma company, We Recycle Solar, is working to perfect the complicated process of recycling solar panels. The company is tucked between warehouses near the airport and refurbishes salvageable solar photovoltaic panels and breaks down worn-out panels into aluminum, granular glass, and other materials that can be reused. (Tucson Sentinel)
  3. On Tuesday afternoon, a man from Yuma was formally charged after being accused of sexual assault. Antonio Payne, 26, was arrested after police say he broke into a victim's home and touched her against her will. Payne faces two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of sexual assault, and his cash-only bond was set at $200,000. He is currently scheduled to return to court on Apr. 4. (KYMA)
