Here are the top three stories today in Yuma:
- Earlier this week, the Yuma Fire Department responded to a fire at 2002 West 8th Street that ended up spreading to eight units in a mobile home park. Due to the strong winds on Tuesday night and the narrow lots within the park, the blaze spread rapidly, and YFD crews had to close surrounding streets as they battled flames for at least two hours. Despite the extensive damage to the eight mobile homes, no injuries were reported and a dog was rescued from one of the units. (KYMA)
- Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Matt Salmon was recently interviewed by Yuma's "The Field" program on KAWC 88.9 FM. The former Congressman discussed a variety of topics, including Yuma's water security, Arizona's sovereignty, and expanding educational opportunities across the state.
