🌱 Stay Safe As Yuma Gets Warmer! + Local Job Openings

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Yuma.

Hey, people of Yuma! It's me again, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Yuma Daily.

First, today's weather:

Breezy in the a.m.; sunshine. High: 85 Low: 59.

Here are the top three stories today in Yuma:

  1. Every year, as the temperature throughout Arizona begins to increase, venomous snakes, spiders, and scorpions start to appear more and more. Arizona is home to 17 different types of rattlesnakes and all of them are venomous. If you run across a snake, it will likely just slither off if left unprovoked. However, if it is at your home or at the park where it poses a risk to someone, call 928-328-3005 for proper removal and relocation of the snake. (DVIDS)
  2. Are you looking for full- or part-time work in the Yuma area? Businesses in and around Yuma are searching to fill openings on their staff. Each week, Patch rounds up some of the best local job openings posted within the past week. Visit the link to see the newest jobs available in the region. (Yuma Patch)
  3. The Arizona Western College English Department is hosting its first-ever Digital Storytelling Contest for students, staff, and faculty. There will be three $250 awards for the top digital stories from students who are enrolled in courses for the upcoming academic semester. Winners will have their projects showcased and receive awards from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Apr. 21 on the AWC Yuma Campus. (KYMA)
