  1. The Yuma area will be experiencing triple-digit temperatures into the weekend. According to the weather report, a trough of low pressure will create dry conditions through Thursday leading to high pressure into the weekend. The extreme temperatures will begin on Saturday. (KYMA)
  2. The Yuma Police Department fatally shot a man while responding to a burglary on Tuesday. The incident occurred at a home on 5th Avenue and W 9th Street. The department reports that they shot the man because he refused to drop his machete. Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to call the department. (KYMA)
  3. COVID-19 infection rates continue to climb in Yuma. According to data released by health officials on Wednesday, Yuma County has now had 62,751 cases. Arizona has seen a 22.7 percent increase in hospitalizations for COVID-19 between May 2 and May 8. (AZ Central)
