Today's riddle: Do you know what the two sides of a circle are? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. State argues federal judge's ruling that bans Ten Commandments displays in Arkansas public schools was wrong (nwaonline.com) — Bentonville families should know that a federal judge's ruling blocking mandatory Ten Commandments posters in classrooms currently applies to the Bentonville School District and five others, and the state is now asking an appeals court to overturn it. The outcome could determine whether religious displays must go up in every Bentonville classroom and library, raising questions about students' rights and school policies.
2. Bentonville City Council approves grants to fund road projects (nwahomepage.com) — Bentonville drivers can expect major upgrades to Greenhouse Road, SW I Street, and the John Deshields Trail after the City Council accepted more than $5 million in grants. The funding helps launch a $45 million road widening, a new traffic signal and safer crossings, plus trail improvements connecting key parts of town for walkers and cyclists.
3. Updates provided on two Bentonville overpass projects (nwahomepage.com) — Bentonville residents are getting clearer timelines on two new I-49 overpasses at NE J Street and Tiger Boulevard, plus a planned roundabout at the dangerous SW Regional Airport Boulevard and Vaughn Road intersection. With construction expected to start in 2027 and millions committed, these projects aim to ease congestion and improve safety at some of the city's most complained-about crossings.
4. Tiffany & Co. Exhibition Opening at Arkansas Museum (nationaljeweler.com) — Bentonville art lovers can look forward to a new Crystal Bridges exhibition celebrating Tiffany & Co.'s nature-inspired jewelry and its place in American art. Opening next month, "Nature Adorned" will showcase historic Tiffany pieces, the 27-carat Arkansas Diamond, and curated pairings with paintings, sculpture, and design from the museum's collection, all just minutes from home.
5. Pay-what-you-can bookshop reopens in downtown Springdale (nwahomepage.com) — Bentonville book lovers may be glad to know that Two Friends Books' nonprofit arm has reopened its pay-what-you-can community bookshop just down the road in downtown Springdale. Run by the Bentonville bookstore's owners, the shop lets readers take home new or used books for free or by donation, with grants and community support helping expand access to literature across Northwest Arkansas.
