  1. The Benton County Sheriff's Office, as well as members of the Benton County SWAT, were called to a home after a man barricaded himself inside his home off Walnut Valley Road near Avoca Wednesday morning. According to Lt. Shannon Jenkins, deputies received a court order for a man that was due in mental health court. When deputies arrived at the home of Garon Cannon early Wednesday morning, Cannon barricaded himself inside his RV home. (KNWA)
  2. A Bentonville man, Brian Workman, who attempted to evade criminal charges by fleeing to the U.S. Virgin Islands, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for raping a woman and failing to appear in court. Workman, 55, pleaded guilty Monday to rape, failure to appear, and misdemeanor assault. (Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette)
  3. The Bentonville School Board has voted to name their 13th elementary school "Vaughn Elementary." The name comes as a nod to the history and people of the Vaughn community. (KNWA)
  4. The XNA airport has grown to 27 nonstop flights with the start of the new Las Vegas-based low-cost carrier, Allegiant. (talkbusiness.net)
