Here are the top three stories in Bentonville today:
- Today marks the beginning of the 2022 Bentonville Farmers Market. The downtown market will be held on every Saturday until the end of October starting at 7:30 a.m. Last year, the market saw $1,289,955 in sales. Visitors will be able to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, and local crafts. (KFSM 5Newsonline)
- The City of Bentonville held its "State of the City" address on Thursday night. The presentation was held at the city's community center and covered the features that set Bentonville apart from other cities in the area. Volunteers and community leaders coordinated the event with hopes of making it an annual occurrence. (KNWA)
- A Bentonville man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for firearms and drug possession. Rafael Melendrez, 37, was sentenced by a United State District Court after being investigated by the Bentonville Narcotics Unit for drug trafficking. The prison sentence will be followed by a five-year supervised release period. (KNWA)
