Here are the top three stories today in Bentonville:
- During Tuesday's Bentonville Schools Board meeting, 12 parents and community members called for the removal of library books that reportedly contained sexually explicit content. Selected excerpts from four books contained scenes of sex, child rape, incest, torture, and murder. In December, the School Board passed a policy allowing district parents to challenge reading materials, as well as to give schools a list of books their children will not read. (Arkansas Online)
- Looking for a career where you can serve the community? The Bentonville Fire Department is currently hiring for 20 open positions. Applications are due on Apr. 1, with entry-level testing taking place on Apr. 15. Apply on the City of Bentonville's website. (Facebook)
- SW 2nd Street will remain closed between SW "A" and SW "C" Streets through Friday, Feb. 18. The closure, scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. daily, is due to utility installation. Detour signs will be in place. (Bentonville Patch)
