Here are the top 3 stories in Bentonville today:

  1. An important and commemorative event took place in Bentonville this weekend, honoring children who have passed due to neglect or abuse. Participants in the event released a white balloon into the sky each time Benton County Prosecuting Attorney Nathan Smith read off a child's name. Children honored were Benton County residents who passed over more than the last two decades. This Cherishing Children Pinwheel Rally coincided with Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, and organizers hope that this serves as a reminder that children need adult advocates to help prevent neglect and abuse. (Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette)
  2. Calling all local knitters and crocheters! A yarn bomb installation is set to drop on June 11 to celebrate National Yarn Bomb Day. The Bella Vista Arts Council is organizing groups of volunteers from local surrounding communities, including Bentonville, to join their effort in creating this unique art installation. This year's theme is "Bella Vista in Bloom" and will feature yarn flowers, as well as participants' own unique creations. Volunteers will be needed for the assembly, installation, and removal of the yarn bomb. (Arkansas Online)
  3. A Bentonville property featured on HGTV's "Fixer to Fabulous" is expected to sell at nearly double the original value. The 3,665-square-foot home was last sold in 2019 for a relatively modest $457,500. Thanks to the renovation by Dave and Jenny Marrs, the home's value has nearly doubled, listed just a couple of weeks ago at $725,000. It's currently listed as "pending." (Beaumont Enterprise)

  • The City of Bentonville congratulates Maxwell Beshears for completing his first half marathon this weekend with a time of 1 hour and 48 minutes! His mom said that Maxwell has autism, so it was a wonderful coincidence that his first half marathon fell on World Autism Awareness Day! She said he hopes to be an inspiration to others. Well, Maxwell, many are certainly inspired. (Facebook)
  • WOW—Wednesdays Over Water—is BACK at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art!
Join Chef Timothy Ordway and his team for a four-course dinner featuring handcrafted small plates, wine, and artistic insight into our temporary exhibition The Dirty South: Contemporary Art, Material Culture, and the Sonic Impulse. Working with the museum's curators and interpretation team, culinary artists have created a unique menu inspired by the museum's collection and exhibitions, transforming the food culture behind individual works into an exercise in edible art.
