🌱 Irish 5K/10K Postponed + Crystal Bridges New Exhibit Opens

Here are the top three stories today in Bentonville:

  1. The Run Bentonville Race Series: Irish 5K/10K, originally scheduled for this weekend, has been postponed until Saturday, Mar. 19 due to weather. The 10K will kick off at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 5K at 7:45 a.m.; these times have been changed from the original event due to Daylight Savings Time. Packet pick-up will continue next week on Thursday, Mar. 17 and Friday, Mar. 18 at the Downtown Activity Center. (Press Release Desk)
  2. On Saturday, the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art opened a new exhibit celebrating 100 years of southern Black culture. Through Jul. 25, patrons can view "The Dirty South: Contemporary Art, Material Culture, and the Sonic Impulse" at the Bentonville museum. Tickets are $12 for adults; entry is free to members, veterans, children 18 and under, and participants of SNAP. (5 News Online)
  3. Jake Reed, a Missouri police officer and Bentonville High School graduate, died on Friday in the line of duty. He and another officer were injured in a shooting in Joplin, Missouri earlier in the week. Reed, a baseball player at Bentonville High, was remembered by his coach as "carefree" and "loving," and "always smiling and laughing." The officer's vital organs will be donated. (New York Post)
