Here are the top stories in Bentonville today:

  1. The Kiwanis Club of Bentonville and Bella Vista handed out 400 food boxes at its annual Guy Wilkerson Food Box Giveaway on Friday. The event has been happening for more than 60 years. The first event helped 12 families in need and now that number has grown to 400. (KNWA)
  2. The city will add another park to its portfolio with the construction of the 28th Street Park.
    The City Council at its Dec. 14 meeting approved a $7.35 million agreement with Flintco to build the park. The park will sit on a 25-acre site and will connect with a 1.6-mile trail that will run from Southwest 28th Street to Southwest Greenhouse Road, said David Wright, parks and recreation director. The Walton Family Foundation provided a $1.4 million grant for the trail, he said. (Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette)
  3. The Northwest Arkansas National Airport board has authorized Fentress Architects to continue design work for the first phase of a new western concourse at the terminal. (Arkansas Online)
