Here are the top stories today in Bentonville:
- Bentonville Square will transform into a 'Winter Wonderland' this Saturday for its annual Lighting of the Square ceremony. The celebrations will last all day, with The Rink at Lawrence Plaza opening for the season at noon. Food trucks and entertainment will also be available prior to the 5:30 p.m. downtown lighting ceremony and 6:00 p.m. exhibition skating show. (Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette)
- On Thursday, the Benton County Quorum Court unanimously approved the 2022 budget. Next year's general fund budget is projected at $51.5 million with a surplus of just over $154,000. Included in the budget is a 6% raise for county employees — 4% merit and a 2% cost of living allowance. (Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette)
