Here are the top 3 stories in Bentonville today:
- The Bentonville police will be incorporating a training simulator into its department. The simulator is designed to equip officers with a level of experience for real-life incidents. Each training simulator will have over 400 realistic scenarios that depict real-world, de-escalation, and judgmental use of force. According to city officials, this new innovation will allow officers to practice with all weapons available to them, including tasers, pepper spray, flashlights, and firearms that may be limited or unusable on a live-fire range. (Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette)
- The Northwest Arkansas Council will be offering a large-scale vaccination event this Friday, March 25 at J.B. Hunt in Lowell, just 15 minutes from Bentonville. The COVID-19 vaccine clinic will not only be providing first, and second doses of the vaccine, but will be offering booster doses as well for those who are above the age of 5. The clinic will take place on Friday, and will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All vaccinations will be free of cost, and insurance information is not required upon arrival. (KNWA)
- Two fugitives from Benton County were recently arrested after hiding from authorities. After Jessica Wuest, 38, failed to appear on drug charges, she became a state fugitive and was found hiding in the man's camper trailer. When found, the Glenco woman and Norfork man were arrested by U.S. Marshals. A warrant for arrest was issued in January after Wuest failed to appear on charges of Trafficking a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance. (KNWA)
