- A contract to study flooding problems on Southwest Nutmeg Street was approved by the Bentonville City Council on Tuesday night. Meshek & Associates LLC was hired as the engineering consultant on the project and will design the needed improvements for the road, where flooding has gotten progressively worse. City engineer Dan Weese said project leaders expect the study will take 165 days to complete. (Subscription: Arkansas Online)
- Three area schools have shifted to online learning due to staff absences caused by COVID-19. Students at Parson Hills Elementary, Sonora Middle School, and the Arkansas Arts Academy will all participate in virtual instruction for the remainder of the week. District leaders are providing students with computers so they will be able to learn online. (Arkansas Online)
- Wednesday marked the largest single-day rise in new COVID-19 cases in Arkansas since the pandemic began. According to Governor Asa Hutchinson, cases rose by 10,974 on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 640,799. (Northwest Arkansas Democratic Gazette)
