Here are the top 3 stories today in Bentonville:

  1. The board of trustees for Northwest Arkansas Community College approved a rise in in-district tuition and associated fees during a meeting on Monday. Beginning this fall, NWACC tuition will increase by 5.3 percent, from $75 to $79 per credit hour. This is the first adjustment for the in-district tuition rate at the school since 2013.   2. A criminal justice committee is asking voters to approve a measure to expand the Benton County Jail. Committee member Sheriff Shawn Holloway says the expansion is necessary to remedy overcrowding at the jail, where the population has reached a critical mass. Members of the committee hope to have the proposal on the ballot for the Nov. 8 election. (Westside Eagle Observer)
  3. Several new properties are now on the market in the Bentonville area.
