Here are the top stories today in Bentonville
- The City of Bentonville's Public Art Advisory Committee is seeking proposals for permanent or mobile artwork that builds on the art and cultural experiences in Northwest Arkansas. The desired installation fosters public engagement, community harmony, identifies the location as Bentonville and reflects our growing diversity. The artwork should create a happy, energetic experience encouraging photo taking and sharing on social media. The project is inspired by large letter installations from around the world. - On Saturday, October 23, a few downtown streets will be temporarily closed midafternoon for Bentonville Public Library's OZ Kids Fat Tire Criterium & Fall Fest. Primary roads will reopen as soon as the last cyclist comes through, or at 5:30 PM, whichever comes first. Volunteers wearing bright-colored vests and Bentonville Police Officers will be positioned at key intersections and cross streets to direct traffic around the route and to assist cars in crossing streets where appropriate. The Bentonville Fire Department will be along the route as well. (The City of Bentonville)
- Bentonville Film Foundation has announced the organization's 2022 film festival will take place both virtually and in person. The 2022 event is being held in Arkansas from June 22 through June 26, while the digital portion will extend through July 3. The festival, led by actor Geena Davis, has been running for seven years and aims to amplify female, non-binary, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, API and people with disabilities in entertainment. The festival is now accepting film submissions for consideration for the 2022 program. (BFFoundation)
