Here are the top three stories in Bentonville today:

1. The Arkansas Supreme Court has officially reversed a judge's order blocking the Bentonville School District's mask mandate meant to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The court has ruled that the state law gave school boards broad authority to determine policies. A spokeswoman with the district reports that the district does not have current plans to reinstate the mask mandate. (KFSM 5Newsonline)
2. Benton County officials educated the community on how to sign up for severe weather alerts during a virtual event on Thursday. The event was reportedly necessary after residents complained of a perceived lack of severe weather alerts. The region recently experienced severe storms and tornadoes this month. (KFSM 5Newsonline)
3. The Benton County Sheriff's office will be participating in the Arkansas Prescription Drug Take-Back Event on Apr. 30. The office is joining other northwest Arkansas locations in providing a safe place to drop off prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vaping pens, and pet medication.
