Welcome back, Bentonville! It's Friday, so let's get you started with everything you need to know going on around town today.

First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories today in Bentonville:

  1. The Square 2 Square Bike Ride event is back this year with both virtual and in-person riding options. The virtual ride will take place May 1-31, and participants will be able to log their miles at any point during this time. For those participating in person, the ride begins Saturday, May 7 in Fayetteville and ends in Bentonville. Volunteers are needed for organizing the event. (bentonvillear.com)
  2. Bentonville resident and Ukraine native Nataliya Chapovska was able to see her father-in-law for the first time in 12 days. He was rescued from his home, where he'd been sheltering without light, heat, or water, by a volunteer. Chapovska continues to work to make sure he stays safe as he reportedly cannot leave the territory because he is of fighting age. (KNWA)
  3. Volunteers are needed for the Bentonville Half Marathon taking place on Saturday, Apr. 2! There are two ways to get involved: 1. Packet Pickup the day before the race for either a morning and afternoon/evening shift or 2. Course Marshal on the day of the race (must be 18 or older). Apply at the link! (Run Bentonville)
