Bentonville West senior Gabriel Alvarado says he and his friends started the Hispanic Excellence Initiative to help students prepare for college entrance exams and improve across a range of academic subjects. More than 30 students have already participated in the group's virtual tutoring sessions. (4State.news)
- A new location of the popular fast-casual franchise Slim Chickens is opening in Bentonville. The restaurant will be located at 1000 Southwest Regional Airport Boulevard and marks the franchise's second location in town. - Bentonville residents gathered at Crystal Bridges on Saturday to observe the 68th Annual Nuclear Legacy of the Marshall Islands. The event honored the Bikini people who were displaced from their homeland in 1946 for nuclear experiments and unable to return due to radioactive waste. Sosylina Maddison, administration officer for KBE, called the event an important opportunity to pause and remember those who fought "for nuclear justice until their last breath." (KNWA)
