Here are the top stories today in Bentonville:
- The University of Arkansas Global Campus has announced it is moving its former Rogers campus to Bentonville this month. The Rogers campus shut down in the fall of 2020 after the school refocused its programming during the COVID-19 pandemic. The new location at 702 S.E. Fifth St. will be within the 15,000-square-foot The Collaborative, which has partly opened and is expected to fully open in mid-November. The new Global Campus location will include conference spaces, classrooms, computer labs, and a webinar recording area as part of The Learning Lab. (Talk Business)
- The Bentonville Library Foundation has nearly reached its fundraising goal to expand the library. So far, the group has raised more than $7.2 million in lead gifts, which will be added to the city's bond proceeds of $4.5 million for the $15 million expansion project. Construction is expected to start in the first quarter of 2023 and take about 16 months. (Arkansas Online)
- The inaugural class of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture's 11-month "Farm School" program is about to graduate this month. Offered in collaboration with the Walton Family Foundation in Bentonville, Farm School runs from January to November and is designed to prepare the next generation of Northwest Arkansas farmers. - Best Friends Animal Society in Bentonville will be hosting an MVP (Most Valuable Pet) adoption promotion at 210 Prairie Lane from 12 to 4 p.m., Nov. 3 to 7. All adoptions will only be $25, and pets will come spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. (News 5 Online)
