• Camden Fairview School Board to allow tennis court rental (camdenarknews.com) — Camden residents can now rent Camden Fairview's tennis courts, after the school board added them to its official list of rentable facilities at a recent special meeting. Local groups can also reserve gyms, auditoriums, cafeterias, and stadiums, with rental fees ranging from $250 to $1,000 plus deposits and practice charges, by emailing details to district staff.
• SW District Pageant crowns Johnson of Camden, Hall of Taylor & Blackwood of Kirby (swark.today) — A Camden representative, Madison Johnson, has been crowned 2026 Miss Southwest District at the Southwest District Livestock Show and Fair, giving local residents someone to cheer for at the Arkansas State Fair. The pageant in Fair Park Coliseum also honored Abigail Hall of Taylor and Masyn Blackwood of Kirby, after a full evening of interviews, onstage questions, and awards across three age divisions.
• L3Harris announces $6 billion-plus THAAD deal, new production facility (256today.com) — L3Harris' plant in Camden plays a key role in a new seven-year, $6 billion-plus contract to boost production of THAAD missile propulsion systems. While the company hasn't said where a new facility will be built, the deal aims to dramatically expand interceptor output nationwide and underscores Camden's role in high-tech defense manufacturing.
