• Harrisburg covers license plate readers as council weighs their future (kait8.com) — Harrisburg's license plate reader cameras are currently bagged and offline while Mayor Justin Kimble and the city council reconsider their use over privacy and Fourth Amendment concerns. Residents have raised questions about tracking and data storage, and the council will formally debate whether to reactivate the Flock Safety system at its Oct. 12 meeting at the Harrisburg Community Center.
• Arkansas Rice in Schools conference set for tomorrow (stuttgartdailyleader.com) — School nutrition leaders from across Arkansas will gather tomorrow just outside Harrisburg for the first Arkansas Rice in Schools Conference at the Northeast Arkansas Rice Research and Extension Center. The event will spotlight Arkansas-grown rice in school meals, with farm tours, culinary training, and ideas local districts can bring back to cafeterias serving Harrisburg-area students.
