• Firefighters extinguish North Little Rock blaze near Burns Park exit off Interstate 40 (arkansasonline.com) — Drivers and residents near Little Rock should know firefighters quickly contained a Saturday evening wildfire off I-40 by the Burns Park exit in North Little Rock, likely sparked by storm-damaged power lines. Forestry crews checked for spread risk into Burns Park, and officials warn that despite recent rain, dry grass and pine straw mean Pulaski County's burn ban and fire danger remain very real.
   

• Enrollment grows as the University of Arkansas at Little Rock preps for back-to-school (thv11.com) — UA–Little Rock is seeing a healthy bump in total enrollment, freshmen, and students living on campus as classes start Monday in Little Rock. Campus housing is up 6% over last fall, and officials credit scholarships and affordability messaging for drawing more students, even as other Arkansas universities also report gains.
   

• Hearts of the House Campaign supports families with children receiving Medical Care (katv.com) — Families with hospitalized children in Little Rock can stay free at Ronald McDonald House while a Hearts of the House campaign raises $3,600 per honoree to fund family rooms for a year. The Central Arkansas programs, including Ronald McDonald House Little Rock and the UAMS Family Room, keep all donations local and offer meals, play spaces, and vital peace of mind. Residents can donate online and choose a specific honoree to support.
