• UA Little Rock students work to create a replica of a human intestine (fox16.com) — Two UA Little Rock mechanical engineering seniors are teaming up with a professor and UAMS doctor in Little Rock to 3D-print a working model of the human intestine. Their goal is to create a biomedical scaffold that could reduce the need for donor tissue samples and support more personalized cancer and disease research for future patients.
• VA awards $791,000 in Arkansas veteran suicide prevention grants (kark.com) — From Little Rock, the VA announced $791,000 in grants to two Arkansas nonprofits to bolster suicide prevention services for veterans across the state. Centers for Youth and Families and Reboot Recovery will expand outreach and connect more veterans to mental health care, complementing national efforts like the Veterans Crisis Line and emergency prevention services.
