1. Traveling out of Arkansas could cost more this holiday season (thv11.com) — If you're flying out of Little Rock for Thanksgiving or Christmas, expect round-trip tickets to cost around $400–$450, noticeably higher than last year due to fuel prices and strong demand. Clinton National Airport will also be building a new parking lot during the holidays, though officials say construction should stay out of the way of current parking and traffic.
2. Metroplan releases new trends for central Arkansas (kark.com) — Little Rock is highlighted as one of central Arkansas's fastest-growing cities, with strong housing demand and residents generally spending under 20% of income on housing. Metroplan's new data points to a thriving local economy and predicts hundreds of thousands more residents in the region by 2060, even as growth may gradually slow.
3. UAMS Patient shared her story in honor of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month (kark.com) — A Little Rock woman just rang the bell at UAMS after beating stage three ovarian cancer, and she's urging neighbors to push for second and third opinions when symptoms don't feel right. Her UAMS oncologist explains that there's no screening test for ovarian cancer, so Little Rock residents should watch for persistent bloating, early fullness, and bowel changes and seek care quickly.
4. Lexicon's 'Steel Day' introduces students to welding careers amid worker shortage (fox16.com) — Nearly 400 central Arkansas students visited Lexicon in Little Rock to explore welding and steel fabrication careers during the company's largest-ever Steel Day. Industry leaders stressed that skilled trades offer strong pay, job security, and an alternative to four-year college, as the nation faces a growing shortage of welding professionals needed for infrastructure and construction projects.
5. Beatles vs. Stones tribute showdown returns to Robinson Center Nov. 18 (katv.com) — Classic rock fans in Little Rock can catch the Beatles vs. Stones – Musical Showdown when it returns to Robinson Center on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. Tribute bands Abbey Road and Satisfaction will recreate iconic hits with period costumes and instruments, and tickets are available now online, by phone, or at the box office.
