Local officials say the event will spotlight the city's role in the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System and its growing logistics economy, potentially boosting business connections and visibility for area industries.
3. UAMS College of Pharmacy Celebrates 75th Anniversary (uams.edu) — UAMS College of Pharmacy in Little Rock is marking 75 years of training most of Arkansas's pharmacists, with campuses now in both Little Rock and Fayetteville. The story traces its move to West Markham, major curriculum changes like the Pharm.D. transition, creation of statewide programs such as the poison center and Medicaid drug initiative, and its growing national research profile.
4. North Little Rock man allegedly committed $245,000-plus in Medicaid fraud (kark.com) — State officials in Little Rock report that a North Little Rock man has been arrested on allegations of submitting more than $245,000 in false Medicaid claims and billing excessive hours. The Attorney General's office credits its Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and federal funding support, stressing its commitment to protecting vulnerable Arkansans and safeguarding the public health-care program.
