Beef wonton ravioli products were found not to have included milk allergen on the label, prompting the massive voluntary recall.

LITTLE ROCK, ARK — More than 30 tons of Sam’s Choice ravioli distributed to Walmart stores has been recalled nationwide after the product was found to contain milk, an undeclared allergen.

Cincinnati-based Wornick Co. posted the recall notice of more than 61,500 tons of the product on the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service on Friday evening. The voluntary recall was implemented after officials learned the allergen was not declared on the product's label as federal law requires.

The issue was detected when company officials received notification from an ingredient supplier that the beef ravioli the company received and used in the recalled products potentially contained undeclared milk. While there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products, anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
