Kevin Scherer to receive Outstanding Alumnus Award (baxterbulletin.com) — Mountain Home readers will see one of their own honored as the Mountain Home Education Foundation names alumnus and chaplain Kevin Scherer its Outstanding Alumnus Award recipient. Scherer reflects on moving to Mountain Home as a teen, the stability and mentoring he found at Mountain Home High School, and how those experiences shaped a career of faith-driven service from Ground Zero to Tyson Foods chaplaincy.
   

2. Making a dream come true (baxterbulletin.com) — A Mountain Home High School graduate, drummer Quinn Hill, is being honored as an Outstanding Alumnus by the Mountain Home Education Foundation, with his portrait going up in Dunbar Auditorium. Hill reflects on growing up in Mountain Home, discovering music through school band and local support, and eventually touring worldwide with Ashley McBryde while hoping his story inspires current students to chase ambitious dreams.
   

3. MHJH Lady Bomber Volleyball squads tie one and win two matches at Jonesboro MacArthur (ktlo.com) — Mountain Home junior high volleyball fans can celebrate a strong road performance at Jonesboro MacArthur, where the Lady Bombers earned a tie and two wins across 7th, 8th, and 9th grade matches. Behind standout efforts from servers, setters, and hitters, the 8th graders stayed undefeated and the 9th graders improved their 5A-East conference record.
   

4. Second of five involved in Baxter County drug trafficking operation pleads guilty in federal court (ktlo.com) — A federal drug-trafficking case tied to Baxter County has advanced as 21-year-old Kadence Martin pleads guilty to misprision of a felony, shifting her case fully into federal court. Mountain Home police, local attorneys, and several area defendants remain involved as large meth and cocaine seizures, firearms, and cash continue to drive parallel state and federal proceedings with key hearings set in October and November.
   

5. Jocelyn Tyan Poynter, 29, Gassville (Conner) (ktlo.com) — Gassville and Mountain Home residents are mourning 29-year-old Jocelyn Tyan Poynter, who passed away in Mountain Home on September 24. A Cotter High School graduate, artist, and choir singer, she leaves behind two young sons and a close-knit family; a memorial service will be held later, with condolences accepted through Conner Family Funeral Home's online guestbook.
