Seasoning Blend Recalled Due Possible Salmonella Contamination From CA Dairy

LOS ANGELES, CA — A seasoning blend has been voluntarily recalled nationwide after a dairy ingredient was pulled due to a possible salmonella contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Blackstone Products based in Utah announced on Friday it was recalling specific lots of its Parmesan Ranch seasoning products after California Dairies, Inc. based in Visalia recalled dry milk powder due to possible salmonella contamination, according to the FDA.

The affected products were sold nationwide at Walmart stores and on the manufacturer's website.

Salmonella are a group of bacteria that can cause fever, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, and in some cases be fatal. It can also spread when individuals who come into contact with Salmonella do not wash their hands or surfaces that were potentially contaminated. Salmonella poisoning can also come from contact with raw or undercooked foods, and can spread from animals to people, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The FDA said the affected milk powder came from a third-party manufacturer and was used in Blackstone's Parmesan Ranch seasoning products, according to the FDA.

The recalled products are labeled Blackstone Parmesan Ranch 7.3 oz seasoning products with item number #4106, according to the FDA.

The lot numbers affected by the recall include: 2025-43282, 2025-46172 and 2026-54751, and have best-by dates of July 2, 2027, Aug. 5, 2027, and Aug. 12, 2027, respectively.

The FDA advised consumers who may have purchased the affected products to not consume them and dispose of the products immediately.
