HESPERIA, CA — Silverwood, a growing residential community in Hesperia, offers new construction homes and mountain views at relatively affordable prices — but only for those who are willing to commit in writing to being kind, according to reports.
All employees, partners, subcontractors and residents at Silverwood are required to sign a kindness pledge, Business Insider reported.
“We look to create a place where the beauty of the natural surroundings is no match to the beauty of how we treat one another as neighbors, creating a beautiful canvas of community only possible with each of us,” reads the pledge, published in full by Pro Builder.
The pledge also calls for signers to, among other things, “foster empathy, acceptance and tolerance,” “get involved and make a positive impact,” and “actively listen to all perspectives and agree to do what is in the best interest for us as a community.”
So far, it seems plenty of people are willing to make the commitment, as Business Insider reported that 225 properties have sold at Silverwood, which opened in April 2025, with residents including young families and retirees.
The over 9,000-acre project started construction in 2022 and is entitled for more than 15,000 homes that range in price from the $400,000s to above $700,000, according to Silverwood’s website.
