Popular Wing Chain Closes 2 CA Locations: Report

Buffalo Wild Wings has closed two California locations so far this year, making the Golden State one of several where the chain is shuttering restaurants in 2026, according to a recent report from Fast Company.

In California, locations at 1620 Saratoga Ave. in San Jose and 6314 E. Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach are no longer open, Inc. confirmed, according to Fast Company.

But even taking into account the closures in California and at least eight other states, the outlet reported that Buffalo Wild Wings still had over 1,400 locations operating nationally as of late last month.

“Despite the shuttered locations, there’s no indication Buffalo Wild Wings is retreating from these markets entirely,” according to Fast Company.

“Instead, the pattern suggests a broader recalibration: the company shedding underperforming restaurants while leaning further into takeout-friendly formats and franchising as it repositions its footprint for the long term.”

As of Thursday, the Buffalo Wild Wings website listed 97 locations in California.

The chain did not immediately respond to a comment request from Fast Company.
