CA City Named Among Best Coastal Small Towns: Report
USA Today readers say a California city, with its central coastal flare, is ranked among the best in the nation.
CALIFORNIA — A California city is one of the best coastal small towns in the nation, USA Today said last week in its 10best Readers Choice Awards 2024.
The ongoing online contests allow readers to choose the top 10 winners from a list of 20 nominees in several nationwide categories, including food, lodging and destinations. USA Today said an expert panel makes the nominations before voting occurs.
California residents may recognize one of this year's victors, Pismo Beach, which makes an appearance in one category.

Centered between San Francisco and Los Angeles, there is lots to do in Pismo Beach. The town has a diverse food scene and offers a golf attraction, dunes for ATV riding, horseback riding, body boarding and various options for shopping, per the city website. It is currently whale season at Pismo Beach.
