CALIFORNIA — California ranks among the worst states for a safe and affordable girls' night out due to the state's sky-high cocktail prices and low proportion of bars and clubs in relation to the population, according to a new study from fashion experts at Nasty Gal.
The study's methodology used cost of living data to examine the average cost of a cocktail, five-mile journey, fast-food meal, bottle of wine and high street party dress.
Among the more affordable states for a night out, Wisconsin came in with the cheapest average cost of a cocktail at $7.30, and Wyoming ranked the most affordable state for a bottle of wine ($.9.66), high street dress ($26.11) and fast-food meal ($5.90).
