CA's Last Remaining Kmart To Close: Report
The latest closure will leave the company with just a handful of stores left in the United States.

GRASS VALLEY, CA — The last Kmart store still in operation in the Golden State will shutter permanently this week. The store is the only remaining Kmart location on the West Coast, ABC7 reported.
The store in Grass Valley, will close its doors on Sunday.
The closure will leave Kmart, which is owned by Sears, with just a handful of locations across the continental United States by the end of 2021.

In 2002, Sears purchased the bankrupt Kmart chain, which became a brand in 1962. Sears Holdings filed for bankruptcy in 2018 and has been gradually closing both Sears and Kmart stores ever since, ABC7 reported.
